Rehearsals

Regular Monday Evening Rehearsals

Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 pm in term-time at Coten End Primary School, Warwick, CV34 6NP; car parking is available.  There are no rehearsals on Bank Holiday Mondays or in school holidays.

Occasionally if necessary, extra rehearsals, including Saturday workshops, are held.

Choir members are expected to attend at least 75% of rehearsals for each concert unless alternative arrangements are agreed with the Musical Director.

Please see Members’ Notes webpage for more information.

Concert Venue Rehearsals

On concert days in November, March and June, an afternoon rehearsal is held at the concert venue, usually between 2:00 and 5:00 pm – please see Concert Notes for more specific information about concert arrangements.

Messiah concerts take place without venue rehearsals for the choir.  However, choir members singing in these concerts are expected to attend the last normal rehearsal at Coten End School on the Monday before, in order that seating and other arrangements can be finalised.  Please do not attend this last rehearsal if you are not singing in the concert.

Choir Members’ Assistance

Various choir members (and their families!) assist with necessary tasks, e.g., concert ticket distribution to choir members; rehearsal refreshments; arranging for the distribution and collection of hired scores; website administration.  As choir members, it is so helpful if you publicise our concerts by distributing posters and flyers; liking and sharing our social media posts and selling tickets!

On Monday evening rehearsals, helpers are needed to come early and set up the school hall – set out chairs, put up tables for signing-in, refreshments, etc., keyboard, music stands.

On concert days we require help at the venue with staging (before and after the concert); interval refreshments, and on the door: ticket sales and collection, and programme sales.

The Officers and Members of WKCS Committee are grateful for all the assistance provided by choir members; they would be pleased too, if more would consider joining them on the committee.  See also the Who’s Who? webpage.
